- Dogon Satimbe Mask, Mali
- A tall carved wooden dance mask with female effigy as top finial, embellished with various grass, seed, old glass beads and shell regalia and painted with organic pigments , apparent sweating surface suggests ritual use over many years. Dogon masks surmounted by female figures are called Satimbe, commemorating a mythological woman who first discovered and wore a mask.
- Measurements: The mask measures 37 x 11 inches.
- Condition:fair, very well handled and field used.
- This mask does not include a display stand.
